The red Sierra de Gredos is a Garnacha-based blend with some 8% Cariñena and 7% Morate. It's a regional wine blending grapes from different villages (Cadalso de los Vidrios, San Martín de Valdeiglesias and Cenicientos) produced with 50% full clusters and natural fermentation. It matured in 300-, 400- and 500-liter French oak barrels for nine months. It has a perfumed, heady nose, very attractive and showy. The palate is medium-bodied with a very nice mouthfeel that made me think of the granite soils. The flavors are focused and clean and the finish quite long.
