Poulsard is probably the oldest grape variety specific to the Jura and gives its fullest expression on red marls. This wine is grown on red marls around Gaillard and Chagnon in Montigny, is fermented and and aged 18 months in large neutral barrels before bottling. Poulsard is very light in color and can show bricking early on in its life. A lovely summer wine, prized for its expression of red fruits and meaty, animal notes.
