G4 Clásico Reposado Tequila

Felipe Camarena calls it his finest Reposado ever, and one sip of the G4 Tequila Clasico Reposado makes that claim easy to believe. Released in a limited run of just 2,016 cases, this additive-free expression is a masterclass in what thoughtful aging can do to an already exceptional Jalisco tequila.

The foundation is classic G4 Blanco, produced at El Pandillo distillery in the Jalisco highlands using traditional stone ovens, copper pot stills, and Felipe's signature 50/50 blend of rainwater and natural spring water. From there, the liquid is split into two aging paths: half rests in single-use American oak whiskey barrels, while the other half matures in single-use sherry wine casks. After three months, the two are married together, producing a reposado of remarkable depth and balance.

• Nose: Roasted agave, cracked black pepper, and warm oak sweetness with a lifted floral character
• Palate: Rich and lush, with cooked agave at the core, layered notes of dried fruit from the sherry influence, vanilla, and a gentle spice
• Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering sweetness, a touch of pepper, and subtle oak rounding everything out

The Clasico Reposado is a natural fit for a classic Tequila Old Fashioned, where the sherry and whiskey barrel complexity can truly shine, or enjoyed in a simple Paloma to let the roasted agave and fruit notes play against bright citrus.
