Mezonte Lorenzo is a rare, small-batch traditional agave spirit (unclassified Raicilla or Ancestral Mezcal), produced in Jalisco, Mexico. It is crafted by master distiller Lorenzo "Don Lencho" Virgen and his family in the rural community of Chancuellar.
Flavor Profile: Known for an intense, vibrant mouthfeel with high acidity, earthy minerality, and notes of tangy citrus, lactic creaminess, and green vegetables
The Maker: Don Lencho is an octogenarian master producer (raicillero) who uses generational, hands-on methods taught by his family.
Agave Varieties: It uses a complex blend of over 10 different wild or semi-wild agave varietals (such as Ixtero amarillo, motosierra, cenizo, and Cimarrón).
Ancestral Process: The agaves are roasted in underground pit ovens, hand-crushed, fermented with natural spring water, and distilled using a traditional combination of copper and regional wood stills (like pine and parota wood).
